What are Social Values? And its Importance.

social value

When a newborn comes in this world, his/her parents play a crucial role in contributing fundamental values which will help them to accomplish their goals in life and drag positivity and happiness in life. While growing up, we all develop socially constructed ethics, learn how to represent ourselves in the society, learn how to behave in a socially acceptable manner, the difference between right and wrong, what is prohibited and what is illegal. These ethics build a thin line between what is acceptable and what is not. Agreed, that social ethics has to evolve as per generations because the world is changing, and then it becomes the need of the hour for our societal values to develop as well. Many people do not believe in these ethics and live life by their terms. But it is well quoted; we have to adapt ourselves by society. We can change, we can question but somewhere and sometimes adapting according to our environment makes justice.

What are Values?

Values are the guiding principles in our life; they drive us to the path of success and drag positivity and hope in our life.

Some values are gifted to us by our parents, and they teach these values at particular points of our life

Honesty, hard work, empathy towards other people, kindness are some of the core values.

Various other values which we derive from our environment.

Let’s understand this with an example when a child is born their parents teach them some core values that are vital for life such as Honesty, hard work, empathy towards other people, kindness but then our peers and environment such as our school and teachers help us build on this values and teach us some different crucial values such as dedication, loyalty, teamwork etc.
